Las Vegas proper is the most varied housing stock in the valley. A mid-century ranch off Maryland Parkway, a 1990s tract home in the southwest, and a new build near the 215 need three genuinely different answers, because their windows are three different sizes in three different frames.
In older parts of the city we are often working with single-pane glass in aluminum frames, where an insulating cellular shade slows the heat coming through the glass more than anything else we sell. In newer construction the glass is bigger and better, and the problem shifts from heat loss to glare and UV — which is a solar shade or a shutter conversation instead.

Older homes with single-pane glass
Many older homes in Las Vegas still have single-pane glass in aluminum frames. Those windows let summer heat straight through. A double-cell cellular shade traps a layer of still air against the glass, and on single-pane windows it makes a measurable difference in how hard your air conditioning works in the afternoon. For street-facing bedrooms we often make it top-down bottom-up, so the top lets daylight in while the bottom half stays private.
Newer homes with bigger glass
In newer construction the glass is bigger and the frames are better, so the job shifts from insulation to glare and UV. On west-facing windows we specify a solar shade by openness factor, window by window: a tight 3% screen turns away the most heat, a 10% screen keeps a crisper view. Patio sliders usually get vertical blinds, because the vanes stack to one side and the door still works as a door.

Bedrooms want real darkness, which in Las Vegas often means a blackout roller with side channels for anyone who sleeps days. Home offices want glare off the screen without losing daylight, which is a solar shade. Kitchens and bathrooms want something that wipes clean and will not warp, which is faux wood. On install day we protect your floors, clean up before we go, and haul your old blinds away for free. Can you install window treatments in an existing home?
Yes. We work in homes people live in, from a mid-century ranch with single-pane glass in aluminum frames to a new build near the 215. We protect your floors, clean up and vacuum before we go, and haul your old blinds away for free. If you want us to take the old ones down, that is priced per window on your quote, so there are no surprises on install day.
How long does it take to receive and install custom shades?
3–5 weeks for blinds and shades, 6–10 weeks for shutters, counted from the day you order. Motorized products take about a week longer. Your lead time is written on your quote, so you know before you say yes. Need privacy sooner? We put up temporary shades for free while you wait. On install day we install, walk through every window with you, clean up, and haul your old blinds away free.
Are you insured?
Yes. We carry general liability insurance of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 in total, with Berkshire Hathaway Direct Insurance Company through biBERK. If your HOA, builder or property manager needs proof, ask and we will email you our certificate of insurance before we start. And because the two of us measure and install every job ourselves, there are no subcontractors in your home whose coverage you would have to check.
